A STORY
OF WINE,
HEART
AND FREEDOM
Nestled in the hollow of the hills, bordered by the forest, Écueil, on the sandy soils of the Upper Thanetian, is the place where Brice Allouchery writes a story of honesty and freedom, guided by the impulse of his heart and by a deep passion for wine — the one that is meant to be shared.
He didn’t inherit a preordained estate, but a family memory and a passion for wine — the kind shared among friends, the kind that speaks without artifice. Brice grew up in Écueil, surrounded by vines, in a family of cooperative winegrowers. His great-grandfather made wine. Not only Champagne, but Coteaux Champenois as well, aged in barrels and bottled at home. Although Brice never tasted those wines, their memory, passed down through family stories, has made a lasting impression and became a compass.
A memory of simple gestures, of a direct and sincere relationship with wine,
one that continues to inspire his own adventure.
From an early age, Brice understood he wasn’t made for rigid frameworks. Learning by heart, not for him!
What guides him is observation, feeling, discovery, and sharing.
As an adult, he first followed a different path. Then, through encounters, tastings, and late-night conversations with friends, a seed began to take root and grew — an idea, an urge, born there, around a table where Champagne bottles slowly revealed themselves: the desire to make wine.
His journey took shape by listening to the living world
– the life of the vines, wines, people.
His journey took shape by listening to the living world – the life of the vines, wines, people. In 2018, he take the plunge and began vinifying almost in secret; to see, to prove to his father and a little to himself, that another Champagne was possible.
Less control, more freedom —
a wine that breathes, that speaks truth.
He moves forward step by step. In 2021, he left the cooperative to vinify one hectare, experimenting, refining, finding his rhythm and following the one of the vines. Today, across his 3.83 hectares, Brice farms his vineyards respecting the rhythm of the soil and plants: no herbicides, natural green cover, gentle tillage to restore organic matter, and a constant pursuit of balance and precision.
The cellar follows the same philosophy: indigenous yeasts, slow and gentle press, a single gentle racking, long ageing in barrels, minimal sulfur. He vinifies as he lives: with curiosity, honesty, and passion.
By 2026, he will press his grapes at home — an important step toward complete and total independence.
By his side, Mathilde accompanies and guide him with kindness, care, intuition, and quiet strength. She observes and questions, bringing a complementary perspective. She is his discreet anchor, the essential presence that steadies and enriches the adventure. She is the essential complicity.
